For a real journey through history and magic, you can go to the Illusion Art Museum in Prague (IAM Prague), a place for everyone who wants to play with their imagination. The museum is suitable for all ages as it includes games, installations and puzzles that provide an incredible visual and sensory experience.
The museum site is located in the historical centre of Prague and is spread over three floors in an old neo-Renaissance building near the Old Town Square. Inside, you can admire vaulted ceilings decorated with original paintings by Mikoláš Alš, one of the greatest artists in Czech history.
Extraordinary, captivating and engaging, the Illusion Art Museum is the place to spend hours of pure fun. This is in fact the first museum in the Czech Republic dedicated to illusions and the art of magic. By means of a very special itinerary, the Illusion Art Museum offers truly special entertainment activities such as: 3D anamorphic installations by Patrik Prošek, metallurgical paintings by Ladislav Vlna, 2D images that turn into 3D spaces and sculptures that turn into paintings. Added to this are more interactive experiences such as painting with light or becoming part of augmented reality scenes.
The exhibition also has an educational section that allows visitors to learn about how certain illusory artistic techniques were used in works of art of great historical value; thus it is possible to relive the Swedish siege of Prague or participate in the fall of the monarchy in Bohemia. Continuing on, you can experience original and at times enigmatic creations by internationally recognised artists such as Patrick Hughes, Ivana Štenclová, Zdeněk Daňek and Jan Jírovec, the lenticular images of David Strauzz and the stereoscopic photographs of travellers Zikmund and Hanzelka.
The Illusion Art Museum in Prague (IAM Prague) is open daily from 9:00 to 20:00.
